This camp will teach students how to write a 5-paragraph argumentative essay. As a one-week intensive summer camp, students will complete the entire course within just five days. 
Schedule:
Step 1:Gathering Evidence, Take a position and Introductory Paragraph: Students will look at sample topics to pick from, gather the evidence needed, take a position of which side they are on and begin the introductory paragraph with a hook by looking at examples.
Step 2:Brainstorm using a graphic organizer and formulate the first 2 Body Paragraphs: Students will formulate the first 2 body paragraphs that support the claim. Students will look at samples to help them.
Step 3: Develop the argument the last body paragraph: Students will write the last body paragraph which is the counter claim. Students will look at samples to help them.
Step 4: Craft the conclusion and complete the rough draft. Students will look at samples to help them.
Step 5:Review the rough draft, graphic organizer and create the polish copy. Students will look at samples to help them.
