In this lesson students will be introduced to finding the area of trapezoids. We will break down the parts of a trapezoid to then incorporate it into the formula. Students will learn to apply to formulas to find the area of a trapezoid. Once they have taken notes they will work on skill based problems. This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.
