Join other Arabic speakers for a two-week conversation camp! We will speak strictly in Arabic on various topics outlined below. I speak the Levantine dialect, but all dialects are welcome! As outlined in the syllabus below, you will see that each class is structured around a conversation prompt followed by a daily “project”. Each day’s project is different, and might be a solo, duo, or group activity. The goal of the projects are to get creative with your language skills and work on listening to and learning from other students. As the instructor, I am always happy to keep a note of words that people may need translated from English, so although we will mainly be speaking in Arabic, it’s okay to pause and ask how to say something. Expect to really get your speaking abilities challenged!

Students will increase their vocabulary and speaking ability in Arabic by practicing with other students in the class.

Ideal Summer
- Introductions and Greetings
- Discussion topic: What is your ideal summer like? How similar are everyone’s ideas? 60 分鐘線上直播課

A Unique Menu
- Discussion topic: What is your favorite food? Do you know how to make it? If not, what is a food you know how to make?
- Project: Work with another student to prepare a “menu” for the other groups. 60 分鐘線上直播課
課 3:
Personal Superheroes
- Discussion topic: Who is your hero? They can be real or fictional. What makes them your hero?
- Project: If you were a superhero, what would your powers be? What would you wear? What would your alter ego be? Present your hero to the class. 60 分鐘線上直播課
課 4:
The Perfect Outfit
- Discussion topic: Think of a few color combinations that you like and a few you don’t like. What is the reason behind those opinions?
- Project: Work with a partner to plan outfits for the following events - a wedding, a funeral, a friend’s birthday party, a day at an amusement park, a camping trip, a normal school day. Present to the class. 60 分鐘線上直播課
