**Please message me to book an assessment. Thanks!** This assessment class will give us an opportunity to see how much you know! During the assessment, we will cover different areas related to: - knowledge of the Arabic alphabet and writing: We will check your knowledge of the letters of the alphabet. Also, we will see how well you connect the letters to form words. In some cases, we will check your ability to write what you hear, which lets me see if you can distinguish between different consonants and long and short vowels. - reading: We will assess your ability to read simple words in isolation and in simple phrases. Depending on your level, we can assess your skill at reading words in complete sentences. - listening comprehension and speaking: I will ask questions to assess your vocabulary and also your ability to understand questions or instructions in Modern Standard Arabic. The goal of the assessment is to find the Arabic course level that is best for you. I'm looking forward to meeting you!

My entire career has focused on teaching languages and encouraging cross-cultural interaction and learning. After obtaining my undergraduate degree in English, I joined an acclaimed cultural center in Morocco, where I was trained to teach Arabic and facilitate multicultural dialogue. I taught Modern Standard Arabic and Darija (Moroccan Arabic) to students from all over the world.
After moving to California, I continued working as a teacher of languages. I taught Arabic, French, and English as a foreign language for various institutions, including Berlitz, ABC Languages, and Fresno State University. In 2013, I received my Masters in English (with a focus on linguistics) from San Francisco State University. I have been teaching Arabic on Outschool for more than 5 years.
When learning a new language, it's best to use that language as much as possible. While speaking some English may be necessary at first, it should be minimized as learning progresses. As much as possible, I choose to engage my students in Arabic and elicit responses in Arabic as well.
The most efficient way to learn a language is to focus on conversation. In my classes, I always prioritize speaking to help the learner overcome any initial feeling of intimidation. Everybody has a different learning style. As a teacher, I adapt my teaching style to the needs and learning styles of each individual student.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young sons. I'm excited to raise my children in a multilingual and multicultural environment. With that goal in mind, our family spent 2019 traveling and homeschooling - we visited Germany, Austria, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Albania. It was fascinating!
Over the last four years, I've had the pleasure of teaching students of many backgrounds from over two dozen countries.
