This class will review high school biology and present topics at the AP level as a primer for AP biology. We will delve into the biochemical details of topics covered in all eight units of AP Biology. This class will set up students for a confident and successful year of AP Biology. We will go into the "why" of each concept and emphasize the overall themes presented in AP Biology. The class will be lecture style with a very strong emphasis on student participation is asking and answering questions and making connections with the material. We will also go over tips on how to stay organized and study efficiently for AP Biology during the school year. Topics covered: Chemistry of Life Biomolecules Cells Cellular Energetics DNA Gene Expression Heredity Natural Selection Ecology
學習目標
Students will come out of this class with a deeper understanding of the basic concepts and more complex biochemistry needed to succeed in AP Biology. Students will have a clear understanding of the chemistry of life, biomolecules, cell and DNA structure and function, genetics and biochemical pathways of cellular energetics.
