我能寫的任何東西,你都能寫得更好。

在這次課程中,我們將發現為什麼一篇文章不太切中要害,並在編寫我們自己的版本之前共同探討如何改進它。

To know how to make a piece of writing better, we need to be able to identify what needs improving.
We'll be looking at a (not very!) creative short paragraph, and will work together to spot the elements that aren't really working. As a group, we'll talk about how the paragraph could be improved and what aspects of writing could be included.
Using the ideas that we talk about as a springboard, students will write their own version of the piece. We will also practice giving constructive suggestions.

學習目標

Students will learn what makes a piece of prose appealing or unappealing. They will identify the elements of writing, such as sentence structure and descriptive techniques, that can be used to build and improve on not only the passage looked at but their own writing in the future.
Students will begin to explore how to give helpful and constructive feedback in an appropriate way as well as, if they choose, how to receive constructive feedback and use it to make their work even better.

Writing is my passion and as well as majoring in English at university, I've just over 20 years experience in teaching English in primary schools (4-11-year-olds) and also as a Home Educator. Over those years I have regularly worked with groups of children specifically on English writing skills.
