In this class, students will learn about the life and experience of Anne Frank and those in the Secret Annex. Students are not expected to have read her diary, and students of all knowledge levels are welcome to attend. Students can expect to learn some background knowledge on the political climate which led to Anne's family going into hiding. We will examine her time of living in the Secret Annex and how her story ended. Students will also learn how her legacy was created and carried on...
Students will gain an understanding of the circumstances that led to Jewish families fearing for their lives. Students will be able to discuss Anne Frank's journey and the impact of her life.
I am a certified teacher with a degree in history and I have studied the topic of the Holocaust extensively. I have taken courses that are focused on the Holocaust which has provided me with a thorough understanding of the events, people, and impacts that occurred as a result of the Holocaust. I am willing to answer any questions prior to the class about what students can expect if they are concerned about the sensitivity of the topic.
We will be discussing topics related to the Holocaust and Anne's story. Anne's story ends in tragedy with her death as well as six other members of the Secret Annex. Please reach out if you have any concerns.
