Classes begin with a short lecture, and a 3-5 minute video (usually paused where vocabulary is written and explained). Then we move on to a lab and end with a review for that day's lesson. *Please note that I prefer students to have their videos on during class time and keep chatroom conversation to a minimum. Day 1 What is a mammal? Characteristics of sea otters. Reading worksheets or Comparing and contrasting animals using Venn diagrams. Lab Create a Sea Mammal mobile: scissors, glue stick, colors, yarn, a hanger Day 2 Whales- Traits and habitats. Compare and contrast animals using Venn diagrams. Different types of whale reading worksheets or videos. Compare and contrast animals using Venn diagrams. Lab: Oragami Whale to learn the parts of the whale. Day 3 Dolphin traits such as their skin and habitats of the pink dolphin A few YouTube videos will be shown in class. Lab: Let's learn the anatomy of the dolphin using diagrams and Playdoh. Day 4 Seals and Walruses traits and habitats. Compare and contrast lab results using a Venn diagram. You may need an extra pair of hands for this lab. Also, a towel for any spills that may occur.
