In this course, students will be introduced to common greetings and other expressions in the Spanish language. The teacher will emphasize the accurate pronunciation of each expression, giving each student the opportunity to practice themselves. We will then have mini dialogues between teacher and student as well as student-to-student. Students will then be introduced to articles, nouns, adjectives, subject pronouns, and verbs. We will use these various components to create simple sentences,...
Students will learn that understanding academic Spanish requires foundational skills and that such skills are necessary to build upon in order to grow in their knowledge and application.
I am offering this course so that students who have not had exposure to academic Spanish may have a simple, yet thorough introduction to Spanish language learning. This course may also serve as support for students who may have had gaps in their prior learning. I am a 25-year veteran Spanish teacher who values developing rapport with students and whose approach to teaching and learning is mastery. Therefore, students and parents can be confident in my expertise to deliver effective instruction.
The teacher will provide a PowerPoint presentation to facilitate the lesson. Students are encouraged to take notes during the lesson.
