The name Benedict Arnold has become synonymous with the word traitor. In this class we will learn more about the treasonous act Arnold committed during the American Revolutionary War as well as his earlier accomplishments as General Arnold of the Continental Army. The class will cover young Benedict Arnold's personal life and his military journey during the Revolutionary War in the first class. In the second class we will look at Arnold's act of treason and his military career in the British...
Learners will identify what action made Benedict Arnold a traitor and how it impacted his legacy. Learners will read and analyze primary sources about Benedict Arnold. Learners will discuss the success and failures of Benedict Arnold in the Continental Army and the British Army. Learners will apply modern day terminology to summarize the accomplishments, failures, places and people in Benedict Arnold's life.
