Students in this class will broaden their knowledge of American Sign Language vocabulary and gain an introductory knowledge of translating English into ASL grammatical order.

I received my A.S. degree in American Sign Language from American River College in Sacramento, CA.  I worked in the Deaf community as the full-time Program Director at the Aspen Camp of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Aspen, CO and also taught ASL-I and ASL-II at Union College in Lincoln, NE for five years.

Each week students will be given a handout of signs to practice and access to online games and practice activities.  There is no prescribed amount of time for homework, I just encourage students to practice as much as they can each week.

Student progression will be informally assessed each week through quizzes and quiz games.  Emphasis is on progress, not letter grades.
