This one-time class explores the life cycle and habitat of the arapaima gigas, the giant freshwater fish of the Amazon River. Learners will be introduced to one of the largest fish in the world and learn about how it lives in the largest river in the world. Learners will hear about how big the fish can grow and and distance the fish can swim. I am a veteran teacher of physical geography, plant and animal biomes, and earth science. This class will introduce the concept of deforestation and animal extinction but will not involve a detailed study.
