This lecture group session is to provide insight through a 25-minute presentation and 10-minute Q&A for students seeking information regarding their high school transcript. This class is designed for students high school interested in understanding how their high school academic credits, test scores, and GPA are applied. The objective is for students to recognize the importance of a transcript, the academic information and courses that are required, and the necessity of the documentation for applying to college or employment. The session is beneficial especially to those students that are homeschooled. After the session - depending on grade level - Students will have additional insight on their formal graduation plan and how to track or implement a finalized transcript. My career has provided me with the opportunity to work in multiple aspects of education, whether as a Campus Registrar, Student & Community Engagement Specialist, and a Home School Academic Advisor and Teacher. I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to support amazing groups of students from multiple demographics and given the chance to offer valuable insight to assist with reaching their academic goals. Additionally, I hold a degree in psychology with the understanding that each student has their own unique approach to education.
My philosophy is the same as my main goals for every student:
- Reduce the obstacles and enable student success
- Recognize that self-motivation is the key
- Whether a student attends a public, private or homeschool – the endless opportunities for future academic success are the same
