代數 1：第一季

This course will focus on the concepts and skills learned in the first semester of Algebra 1.  Prerequisite for the course is the successful completion of a Pre-Algebra course.  Before taking this class students should be able to confidently work with the four operations with positive & negative integers, simple equations, and simple functions.  This is a rigorous Algebra 1 course to prepare students for the remainder of Algebra and future high school level math classes.

These concepts covered in this course include:
Weeks 1-2: Algebra Basics
Weeks 3-6:  Multi-Step Equations & Inequalities
Weeks 7-8: Relations & Functions

Material will be presented in a straightforward "I do, we do, you do" approach.  Students will first watch an example before working through problems with the instructor before solving problems on their own.  Students will be assessed with periodic quizzes and unit tests.  A final grade will be assigned if requested by the parent/guardian.  Required homework will be assigned after each class and will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete daily (2-4 hours a week).  Answer keys will be posted for the homework so students may assess their own progress.  Questions on homework will be addressed in the first ten minutes of every class session.
