I have been teaching modern art history classes on Outschool since 2018 and host local workshops in my homeschooling community. As a professional artist and textile designer I have attended local and online professional development training seminars on cultural representation, appropriation and non-biased instruction in the art world, including some specifically on Afrofuturism, African-American art and Native American art history (Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art seminars for Educators). I am passionate about helping young ones to see and appreciate the diverse world around them as they draw inspiration from the beauty of our global community.

In between classes students will be assigned a fun activity to create their own original futuristic story inspired by Afrofuturism. A template will be provided and posted in the classroom after the first class is completed. Alternatively, learners can choose to create an art project of their choice.
