Variety is the spice of life- and creative writing! In this ongoing class, learners will have the opportunity to exercise their creativity with a variety of writing challenges which we will work through together in class. From a descriptive paragraph about a picture to writing a review of a terrible meal in a restaurant; from competing to see who can find the most extravagant way to describe something ordinary to summarising whole books as Tweets; from re-imagining the ending of a famous story to describing how to commit the perfect crime...students will be kept on their toes with a whole range of weekly tasks. Each challenge will be unique to that week and no previous experience of the class will be necessary to join in. WB 16th Sept: Through the wardrobe... or cupboard... or shed... a door between worlds. WB 23rd Sept: The Robbery - creating a story around a title or concept. WB 30th Sept: Random! Learners will get the chance to pick random card prompts and create a story WB 7th Oct: The Knights of the Wobbly Table - create your own Arthurian style legend. WB 14th Oct: An impossible choice - how a character deals with a choice with only two bad outcomes. Each class will begin by introducing the challenge. Learners will look at the characteristics of the particular genre, style, etc. and identify the key elements that they will need to include. Students will then have the opportunity to rise to the challenge and write their pieces. Time allowing, those who would like to do so may share their work in class. Students will be encouraged to post their writing in the class messages if they would like. There is no pressure to share, however, if students would rather not. Please note that ongoing classes are not designed to be built upon each week and, as such, feedback and reports on the personal progress of regular students do not form part of this class.

教師專業知識和證書
Writing is my passion and as well as majoring in English at university, I've 20 years’ experience in teaching English in primary schools (4-11-year-olds). Over those years I have worked regularly with groups of children specifically on English writing skills. My favourite lessons have always been when I can find out what interests and motivates a student and use those interests to engage a learner and build their confidence.
