Students who participate in this class learn:
-World geography
-To compare/contrast cultures
-Basic knowledge of the history/culture of various countries

I am a CO-certified K-6 teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching social studies.  I have taught in a variety of environments, including homeschool, public, and private school settings.  I have also taught a variety of subjects for over 3 years on Outschool, including social studies.  I make every effort I can to include multiple perspectives and prevent broad generalizations of cultures past and present.  Students in my class are expected to participate in discussions with respect to the cultures we are studying.

Students are assigned to look over a page or two in the National Geographic Kids World Atlas, as an optional homework activity.  They may share their findings in class.
