Get $5 off your first class! Use code: GREENFRST5 Lights, camera, action! Join us for a fun and energizing class to practice your acting skills with scene-reading! Learners will be provided a script at the start of class and will do a "cold" read. Then we will discuss what is happening in the scene, character motivations, possible actor choices, and different ways to present the scene. We will read the scene with a couple of different possibilities/view points. Then we will give the actors the chance to “add-on” a couple of lines of their own. They can attempt to improv more scenes if time allows. Most, if not all the scripts from this class will be pulled from Internet Movie Database in the family/adventure genre. Learners will be given feedback, ideas, or possibly switch roles (stay flexible). Learners can choose to just observe their first class, but are expected to participate going forward. Our goals are to have fun, practice, improve and build self confidence! Script schedule! Some recurring themes in this class will be:
-Understanding character goals and motivations.
-Understanding the essence and importance of conflict/contrast.
-Keys to good showmanship.
-Looking at how the scene play into/relates to the rest of the play/movie/story.
-Tips on how to commit to the character/lines.
-How to be a good listener and therefore a good "reactor".

This course is rated PG. (if it were a movie). Students need to be involved in this course: screens on and unmuted. (exceptions can be made if it is a student’s first time)

Basic reading skills are required for this class, since learners are required to read from script pages (sample script pages available upon request).
