This is a 10-session group course for 5th, 6th, and 7th grade students who are taking the SSAT Middle-Level exam as part of application to private school for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. Miss McKinney will use different RESOURCES to help students: 1. Online a. IXL b. Kahoot c. Khan Academy 2. Worksheets a. education.com b. K5 Learning c. Super Teachers d. teacher created 3. Practice test questions a. Elevate Prep b. Kaplan c. Princeton Review d. Mometrix See the Syllabus for topics by session for each week.

Students will practice reading, analyzing, answering and solving potential questions for SSAT Middle-Level exam from verbal, reading, and math sections.
Students will practice various strategies to help them be successful in the exam.

“Kahoot! is a global learning platform company. Kahoot! games can be played anywhere, in person or virtually, using any device with an internet connection.” A Kahoot! game is a quiz with multiple choice answers and the games include topics such as Year End Math Assessment. Kahoot! is a fun way to test a student's knowledge of a math topic such as adding fractions, multiplying decimals, solving for area of a rectangle.
Kahoot! app is free and does not require an account. The teacher provides the website link (http://www.kahoot.it) and a game pin then the student creates a silly screen name; thus, no account is needed, and no personal information is given to Kahoot!
“Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computing, history, art history, economics, and more, including K-14 and test preparation (SAT, Praxis, LSAT) content. We focus on skill mastery to help learners establish strong foundations, so there's no limit to what they can learn next!”
Khan Academy is also a free app and for this class will not require an account. The teacher will share screen of quiz questions, so no account is needed, and no personal information is given to Khan Academy.
