課堂經歷
Circle Time and Calendar are great ways for early elementary aged learners to review math skills and learn about their peers but upper elementary learners usually do not get the same type of experience and interaction. In this calendar type course, your learner will learn and review various 5th grade math skills all revolving around a "number of the day" while building friendships with their fellow learners. Spiraling can be a great way for students to continuously practice skills that they have learned. This class will start with a review of 4th grade skills and new 5th grade skill each week. That 5th grade skill will then be spiraled into future classes. Your learner will have multiple opportunities to practice each skill. I will also include a game/fun activity each week (guess my number, math riddles, multiplication war etc.) This class will give multiple opportunities to learn the skills, so you can join at anytime! Providing positive reinforcement is very important to me while I am teaching my classes! I want students to feel successful and be able to practice skills in a positive and fun environment! I will give your learner specific and positive feedback so that they can fix mistakes if needed and celebrate their successes! My classes are very interactive and I give all learners multiple opportunities in class to share their ideas/answer questions! Here is a list of each week's skills: (I will update as more weeks are added) Week of 8/1 Day 1: Odd/Even, Factors, Prime/Composite Day 2: Prime Factorization Week of 8/8 Day 1: Prime Factorization, Odd/Even, Prime/Composite Day 2: Ways to Make a Number Week of 8/15 Day 1: Ways to Make a Number, Prime Factorization, Arrays Day 2: Comparing/Ordering Numbers Week of 8/22 Day 1: Expanded Form, Ways to Make a Number, Arrays Day 2: Rounding Numbers Week of 8/30 Day 1: Place Value, Rounding, Ordering, Factors, Ways to Make a Number Day 2: Order of Operations Week of 9/6 Day 1: Place Value, Order of Operations, Comparing, Prime Factorization, Median Day 2: Multiplication Week of 9/13 Day 1: Place Value, Multiplication, Order of Operations, Rounding, Ordering, Median Day 2: GCF/LCM Week of 9/20 Day 1: GCF/LCM, Median, Mode, Multiplication, Comparing, Ways to Make a Number Day 2: Exponents Week of 9/27 Day 1: Exponents, Order of Operations, Prime Factorization, Rounding, GCF Day 2: Division Week of October 4th Day 1: Division, Multiplication, Median, Mode, Range Day 2: Divisibility Rules Week of October 11th Day 1: Divisibility Rules, Multiplication, Prime/Composite, LCM Day 2: Multiplication/Division Word Problems Week of October 18th Day 1: Word Problems, Ordering Numbers, Factors, Exponents Day 2: Reading/Writing Decimals Week of October 25th Day 1: Place Value, Reading/Writing Decimals, Division, Divisibility Rules Day 2: Decimals on a Number Line Week of November 1st Day 1: Decimals on a Number Line, Comparing Numbers, Order of Operations, Multiplication Day 2: Compare/Order Decimals Week of November 8th Day 1: Compare/Order Decimals, Rounding Numbers, Exponents, GCF Day 2: Rounding Decimals Week of November 15th Day 1: Rounding Decimals, Addition/Subtraction, Range, Mean Day 2: Adding/Subtracting Decimals Week of November 29th Day 1: Adding/Subtracting Decimals, Multiplication, Reading/Writing Decimals, Order of Operations Day 2: Multiplying Decimals Week of December 6th Day 1: Multiplying Decimals, Division, Coordinate Plane, Rounding Decimals Day 2: Dividing Decimals Week of December 12th Day 1: Dividing Decimals, Addition/Subtracting Decimals, Word Problems, Decimals on a Number Line Day 2: Fractions Review-Simplifying/Equivalent Week of 1/3 Day 1: Fractions Review, GCF/LCM, Dividing Decimals Day 2: Equivalent Fractions *********UPDATED DATES****** Week of 1/31 Day 1: Simplifying Fractions, Equivalent Fractions, Fractions on a Number Line Day 2: Comparing Fractions Week of 2/7 Day 1: Simplifying Fractions, Comparing Fractions, Multiplying Decimals Day 2: Adding/Subtracting Fractions Week of 2/14 Day 1: Adding/Subtracting Fractions, Dividing Decimals, Mean Day 2: Adding/Subtracting Mixed Numbers Week of 2/21 Day 1: Adding/Subtracting Fractions, Adding/Subtracting Mixed Numbers, Comparing Numbers Day 2: Adding/Subtracting Mixed Numbers Week of 2/28 Day 1: Adding/Subtracting Mixed Numbers, Prime/Composite, Rounding Day 2: Multiplying Fractions Week of 3/7 Day 1: Multiplying Fractions, Functions, Order of Operations Day 2: Multiplying Mixed Numbers Week of 3/14 Day 1: Multiplying Mixed Numbers, Fractions on a Number Line, Dividing Decimals Day 2: Dividing Fractions Week of 3/21 Day 1: Dividing Fractions, Types of Triangles, Multiplication Day 2: Equivalent Fractions/Decimals/Percents Week of 3/28 Day 1: Equivalent Fractions/Decimals/Percents, Exponents, Decimals on a Number Line Day 2: Equivalent Fractions/Decimals/Percents Week of 4/4 Day 1: Equivalent Fractions/Decimals/Percents, Dividing Fractions, Prime Factorization Day 2: Equivalent Fractions/Decimals/Percents Week of 4/11 Day 1: Equivalent Fractions/Decimals/Percents, Order of Operations, Mean Day 2: Equivalent Fractions/Decimals/Percents BINGO Week of 4/18 Day 1: Ratios, Mode, Range, Coordinate Plane Day 2: One Step Equations Week of 4/25--NO CLASS Week of 5/2 Day 1: Coordinate Plane, Multiplying Decimals, Median Day 2: Ratios Week of 5/9 Day 1: One Step Equations, Graphs, Adding/Subtracting Fractions Day 2: Perimeter Week of 5/16 Day 1: Perimeter, Adding/Subtracting Decimals, Comparing Fractions Day 2: Area Week of 5/23 Day 1: Area, Multiplying Fractions, Graphing Lines on a Coordinate Plane Day 2: Volume Week of 5/30 Day 1: Dividing Decimals, Diving Fractions, Volume Day 2: Review Game Week of 6/6 Day 1: Exponents, Order of Operations, Multiplication Day 2: Mean, Median, Mode, Range Week of 6/13 Day 1: 3D Shapes, Ratios, Converting between Percents and Fractions Day 2: Analyzing graphs Week of 6/20 Day 1: Converting between Decimals and Fractions, Adding and Subtracting Fractions Day 2: Measurement: Length Week of 6/27 Day 1: Converting between Decimals and Percents, Adding and Subtracting Fractions Day 2: Measurement: Capacity Week of 7/4 -No Class Week of 7/11 Day 1: Divisibility Rules, GCF, Functions Day 2: Word Problems Week of 7/18 (Last week of this class) Day 1: Course Review Game Day 2: Course Review Game
