📚 Join the Adventure of Classic Literature! 📚

Does your learner love reading and discussing great stories? This  book club is designed for 4th and 5th-grade learners who want to develop a lifelong love of reading, build critical thinking skills, and practice literary analysis in a friendly, engaging environment.

This course is perfect if your learner wants to:

✅ Discover and appreciate classic novels

✅ Build confidence in speaking and writing about literature

✅ Sharpen critical thinking and analytical skills

✅ Prepare for more advanced middle school and high school literature courses

🌟 How It Works 🌟 

In this semester-long 4th and 5th-grade classics book club, we meet weekly to discuss age-appropriate classic literature. Each book is read over a 4-week period, giving learners the opportunity to engage deeply with the text. Pay weekly, and learners can join for any or all book discussions.

Every class session includes:

Warm-Up Discussion (5-10 min): Learners are welcomed to share first impressions, predictions, or reflections on the week's reading.

Literary Analysis Activity (15-20 min): Learners respond to thought-provoking prompts designed to explore themes, characters, and symbols.

Group Discussion (15-20 min): Learners dive into deeper conversations about key literary elements, pose their own questions, and engage in thoughtful dialogue with peers.

Wrap-Up (3-5 min): We close with predictions or final reflections, helping learners solidify their understanding.

Meg Connolly is a certified teacher with bachelors degrees in literature and philosophy. She has masters degrees in teaching ELA, grades 7-12, and in teaching students with disabilities. She has ten years of teaching experience both in the US public school system and online. She has taught a wide range of courses throughout her career, from self-contained special education ELA to Advanced Placement Literature and Language & Composition. In addition to her masters, she is TESOL certified and experienced in working with ESL students.  She also writes her own fictional short stories for podcasts.
