Class Experience
This is a 4-week online course on drawing the winter theme for children 6-11 years old (age is flexible) with watercolor pencils: Week 1 - bluetit with berries in the snow Week 2 - a still life with oil lamp and books Week 3 - a wooly mammoth Week 4 - winter landscape with a hut I have a dual camera setup which allows students to see me and my drawing process at the same time. In the beginning I go over the supplies (please check the supply list) and the technique steps. As I explain how to draw the subject, students draw along the way. They can ask questions anytime and show their work in progress for feedback if they wish. Students are free to choose colors they want for the background. The lesson is being recorded and students will have access to the recording after the lesson for 90 days. Supplies needed: watercolor pencils; watercolor or mix media paper; brush; pencil; eraser; water; paper towel/napkin.

Hello and welcome! My name is Anna Starkova, I'm an artist, a mother of two (9 and 5 years old) and a wife.
Art has always been my biggest passion since childhood. I love working in various techniques like oil and acrylic painting, watercolors, and graphite drawing. Recently, I have started exploring the full potential watercolor pencils as well. Here at Outschool, I'm offering various one-time classes and 4-week courses (several one-time classes grouped together) in watercolor pencil art technique, graphite drawing and acrylic painting.
I have my own art studio in Needham, MA (Greater Boston Area) where I offer group and individual art lessons for children (age 4+) and adults. I enjoy working with my students and creating new artworks, exploring new themes with them and mastering different techniques. I show and teach all that I have learned during my own art process.
I feel honored to receive several awards and to be selected to participate in many juried art exhibitions throughout New England as well as in New York City. I am also honored to have my paintings in private collections all around the world: USA, Russia, UK, Belgium, Sweden, Australia, UAE, India, and Japan.
