Occasional simple craft materials (colored pencils, markers, etc) These will be noted in class and in the classroom the week before they are needed.All literature is chosen from a generally recognized collection of age-appropriate, often award-winning books. Parents are encouraged to research any unfamiliar books to be sure they are appropriate for their learner. Some of the stories have light references to death, battles, danger, lost pets, or the mild tension of suspense. There are characters who do not act kindly to others. All of these things will be presented gently and carefully, in ways that are appropriate for 3rd grade. Parents are welcome to discuss any concerns at any time.
