Welcome to Mrs. D's Art Room where it is always a good day when you are learning something new. This will be a Spooktacular and a fun experience for the young learners during this Halloween season! I will be focusing on the basics of landscape painting like spacing, proportions, and perspective while drawing an old haunted house🏚️!! First 15, 20 min.~ We will learn how to draw an old haunted house surrounded by trees and the moon in the distance using the basics of perspective drawing. We will finish up the drawing with some night background fall and spooky things such as cats, spiders, jack O’lanterns, spiders, or a witch in the night background of the painting using young learners' imagination!! We also will learn to use easy steps to understand proportion, perspective, and some basic rules of landscape painting. Next whole hour ~ We will spend learning watercolor techniques including the coloring of the distant trees with unique brush strokes. We will learn wet onto wet, water wash, blending, layering, lifting color, and many more fun things using watercolors. I will focus on how to hold your brushes and how to use proper pressure while applying them. We will mostly use round and flat watercolor brushes and fan brush techniques while painting. I will use a dual-screen so that kids can see me drawing with them throughout the whole class. If learners are familiar with using canvas they are welcome to use canvas for this painting. I will use watercolor paper for this demo project. The young artist will be encouraged to make their artwork unique and complete their art independently if they are not finished in class. I pace our class based on the student’s abilities, so we will go slower or faster depending on how they are doing. No experience is needed for this class; learners will follow the directions I give. Small water cup for cleaning paintbrushes 8. Paper towels 9. We will need something round either a bowl or plate to trace the shape of the moon in the background ( not mandatory) 10. Black thin Sharpie 11. Orange and yellow colored pencils

Hello and Welcome Outschoolars! I’m Mrs.D. ! I appreciate you considering me to be a part of your young artist's art journey!
I teach various art classes that involve color theories, color wheels, and color schemes that work together to create human figures, landscaping, and canvas painting with easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. I love to teach different styles and techniques of art using Art Theory.
I am an artist by profession. I have a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. I have participated in many art exhibitions in my public art center and library and taught art, crafts, and card making in elementary schools and Girl Scouts as a volunteer. I love to share art with my community.
I have been teaching 1:1 art classes online and in person for the last 5 years to ages 4 to 14 years. I have instructed children online all around the world, and continue to teach local classes and workshops in my community. I am so happy to continue what I am doing on a bigger and better platform from the comfort of my home.
I like to teach Art Theory in most of my projects so kids will learn multiple things without even realizing it. I believe all students can learn, and art is the best way to express yourself and your feelings in your unique way.
Art helps to improve hand and eye coordination. It also helps to grow your concentration and patience. Sometimes young minds can't express themselves through talking, but through drawing. I love connecting with students through art and helping them grow, laugh, and have some fun!
Class Expectation: Everyone works at different speeds. If the child is not finished with the piece by the end of class, they can finish the remaining picture at home and post it in the classroom.
