This one time class will serve as a short introduction to students who have interest in the early history of the Soviet Union. We will take a quick look at the causes of the Bolshevik Revolution, as well as the rise of Vladimir Lenin. This 30-minute long class will be lecture style, and a powerpoint will provide visuals, as well as some text. We will look at the Bolshevik Revolution, which led to the rise of the Soviet Union. The class will be designed as follows: 5 minutes: Early history of Russia, and modernization. 10 Minutes: Czar Nicholas, Rasputin, and the March, 1917 Revolution. 15 Minutes: The Provisional Government, Vladimir Lenin, and the Russian Civil War. This class is designed to provide students will the basic outline of the events that led to the establishment Soviet Union. If they find that they have an interest in the country and content, a lengthier, more in-depth course, can be offered upon request.

No violence will be presented to students. However, mention will be made of the Army's attempts to quell protests in March, 1917. It will not be discussed at any length, merely mentioned in its historical context.
