"Kawaii" means "cute" in Japanese, and in this weekly class, we'll learn how to draw a variety of kawaii-style animals, characters and objects! We'll begin each 20-minute lesson by choosing our subject matter, then I will demonstrate how to break the subject down into basic shapes and sketch it out before completing the final line art. Students will be encouraged to add their own creative flourishes, details, and personal style to their illustration, and a weekly share post will allow...
Required supplies: Sketchbook, drawing pad, or other drawing paper Graphite pencils (mechanical or traditional pencils) Eraser Ink pen or ultra-fine-point permanent marker Optional supplies: Crayons, colored pencils, markers, colored ink pens, watercolor, or other drawing media (NOTE: Students may also use drawing apps such as ProCreate instead of physical art media, but some of my drawing techniques may not translate exactly to a digital format.)
