In this one-time, one-on-one class, the student will learn and practice two strategies for dividing a multi-digit number by a single-digit number—the “Big 7” method and the place value chart. I have been thoroughly trained in the Cognitively Guided Instruction (CGI) approach to mathematics. It's very important to me that my students make sense of their mathematics, develop strong conceptual understanding, build a solid foundation of skills, enjoy their math, gain confidence, and find the subject interesting, engaging, and meaningful.
