1st Grade Online Class Description  

📚 What Will Be Taught?
This engaging 36-week online 1st grade course covers reading, writing, math, science, and social studies through interactive lessons, hands-on activities, and creative projects. Students will build confidence in reading fluency, writing sentences, solving math problems, exploring scientific concepts, and understanding communities and cultures.  


📖 What Topics Will Be Covered?  
✔ Reading & Writing: Phonics, sight words, sentence structure, reading comprehension, storytelling, and paragraph writing.  
✔ Math: Addition/subtraction, place value, counting to 120, telling time, money, measurement, graphs, fractions, and problem-solving.  
✔ Science: Life cycles, weather, plants, animals, light and sound, space, and simple experiments.  
✔ Social Studies: Community helpers, maps, wants vs. needs, traditions, landforms, government basics, and historical figures.  
✔ Creative Expression: Art, music, movement, and hands-on STEM projects.  


⏳ How Is the Class Structured?
Each class session lasts 2.5 hours, three days a week and follows this structure:  

1️⃣ Warm-up & Circle Time (20 min) – Calendar, songs, interactive Q&A  
2️⃣ Core Subject Learning (90 min total, rotating subjects)  
   - Reading/Writing (30 min)  
   - Math (30 min)
   - Science/Social Studies (30 min)  
3️⃣ Interactive Review & Hands-on Activities (40 min) – Games, discussions, art, or movement-based learning  


🎯 How Will I Teach?  
This class is designed to be engaging, interactive, and hands-on to keep young learners excited about learning! Lessons will include:

🔹 Storytelling & Read-Alouds – Fun, engaging books to build literacy skills.  
🔹 Hands-on Activities – Art projects, science experiments, and math games.  
🔹 Videos & Songs – Short educational clips and catchy songs to reinforce concepts.  
🔹 Movement Breaks – Brain breaks with movement activities to keep kids engaged.
