🎵 Recorder Anatomy - putting the instrument together, learning the names for each part 🎵 Musician Setup - hand position, embouchure (shape of lips), and body posture 🎵 Tone - creating a consistent beautiful sound 🎵 Technique - proper fingerings for each note, learning scales, etc. 🎵 Articulation - using the tongue to start the sound 🎵 Reading Music - rhythm, treble clef staff 🎵 Sight Reading - the ability to play music as you read it for the first time 🎵 Solo Repertoire - songs to prepare over a long time for a performance 🎵 Etudes - short songs assigned to prepare within a week or two for lessons 🎵 Performance anxiety - how to cope with nerves 🎵 Confidence - building pride in our hard work 🌈 Recorder Karate - show mastery of songs by earning "Recorder Karate" belts! Extras: ➕ Student Choice Songs - If there is a song that your student really wants to learn, I can help make that happen! ➕ Ensemble Music Practice - If the student needs help to learn their ensemble music for school, clubs, etc., we can work on it!

👋 Hello! Welcome to Music Memories Academy. My name is Ms. Jessica, and I'm thrilled to have you here!
I believe every child has the potential for musicianship. My passion is to ignite joy and curiosity in my students, fostering a lifelong love for music and creating cherished memories. With over 8 years of experience teaching music in both classroom settings and private lessons, I love introducing children to the fundamentals of music. In our group and self-paced classes, students will sing, play instruments, move to music, explore elements (rhythm, tempo, and pitch, etc.) and participate in engaging activities that enhance their skills and appreciation for music. Private lessons will focus on recorder or flute instruction tailored to each student’s unique goals and learning needs.
Access to music education provides children with a powerful way to express themselves and connect with others, offering tremendous social and emotional benefits. I strive to create a vibrant and inclusive environment where every student feels encouraged to participate, grow, and have fun. Together, we will create beautiful "Music Memories!"
