In this ongoing reading tutoring class, students will practice reading, fluency, and comprehension at their level.   The teacher will spend the first session or two conducting informal assessments getting to know the student.  The teacher will work with the student to find content that the child enjoys reading while scaffolding learning as the student practices reading.  Learning should be fun and engaging so your child will be an active participant in their learning.  In the event that you are looking for homework help or have a special request for a tutoring session, 24-hour notice is required in order to best prepare for the session and to determine if the request is something that can be accommodated.  Things to be covered:  Informal Assessments getting to know your child, Cold read- What's the plan? Fluency emphasis, Do I understand what I read?  Each student is uniquely different so what is covered in sessions will be dependent on the student's needs as well as what the parent's goals are for their child.
