Does your student need help comprehending what they are reading or answering reading comprehension questions? If so this one time tutoring session is a great fit for your student! In this tutoring style session, your student will be taught skills and strategies to help them be successful in taking reading classroom tests, standardized tests, state tests, and EOG's. 

I will teach your student how to comprehend what they are reading by utilizing a strategy that involves a combination of simple note taking (only a few words at a time) and summarizing sections of what they are reading. I will then teach them how to focus on important parts of the question to utilize when looking for "evidence" for their answer. This strategy truly takes out the guess work and stress of working on reading comprehension passages and questions. I feel this will give your student confidence when reading comprehension passages. 

We will cover and review, specific reading  comprehension skills such as: 

summarizing, character traits, comparing and contrasting, sequencing, main idea/central theme, inference and supporting details.
