This class will help learners get some 1:1 help with math topics covered in elementary school and middle school. Students are encouraged to bring school work or have questions ready but I will also do my best to see if there are any 'knowledge gaps'. It's always good to have a few sessions so we can gain momentum and I can get to know the student's learning style. Math can be tough but it can also be fun, my goal is to make that happen!

What I Teach
There are a few fundamental skills that students need in order to excel with more advanced math and sometimes they are taught these concepts so quickly that they aren't really able to let them sink in. My goal is to reinforce those skills so that students can build upon them and practice higher level abstract thinking.

What I'll Provide
Homework help, test preparation, or just improving understanding of math concepts. We will cover the fundamentals of pre-algebra, geometry, fractions, decimals, percent, factors, multiples, or even the basics of long division. The list is endless!

Teaching Style
I like to have fun and show students the joys of math but.... I know parents also want to see progress and work done so I do make an effort to have 'sit down and do the work' moments. At times students will be required to sit quietly and do the work as if in a test situation, afterwards we can review the work and fix any mistakes.
