In this tutoring class, students can come with any questions they may have in a math class, homework, etc. If the student does not have any specific questions, I will provide grade level practice problems that are aligned with the CCSS (common core state standards). I will informally assess the student and adapt my instruction to meet their needs so they can become proficient at their grade level. My class is structured in a way to keep students engaged. Through solving practice problems together, I will get to know my students and their interests and make it relatable to their lives. 

Topic 1- Place Value within hundreds
Topic 2- Fluency with addition/subtraction
Topic 3- Relating add/sub to measurement
Topic 4- Using place value discs to add/subtract

My teaching style helps build student confidence by teaching them how to keep a growth mindset when learning new things. I use several types of technology in my lessons, such as video clips, slides, and interactive programs to keep students engaged and on task.
