In this course, students will be given guided practice problems to solve involving multiplying a multiple digit number by either single-digit numbers, by two-digit numbers or by three-digit numbers as typically taught in fifth grade. This should not be the student's first exposure to this mathematical operation. Students will be given immediate feedback, guided error correction, and reteaching as needed during the class. Strategies such as using the standard algorithm, partial products or area model method to find answers will be demonstrated as needed. Students should have a basic understanding of single digit multiplication and/or multiplication facts before taking this class.
