課堂經歷
What better way to learn Russian than with an experienced native Russian teacher? You can develop or improve your Russian language skills in these one-on-one ongoing (once-a-week) private sessions which will be tailored to each individual student's proficiency level, needs and interests. Although lessons will vary depending on your language proficiency level, age and and interests, they will generally focus on developing conversational skills, learning grammatical structures, and practicing reading and writing activities as well. Whether you are an accomplished Russian language student who needs some academic help and guidance with your existing Russian class, a Russian language enthusiast who would like to work on their conversational skills, or a complete newbie of any age, this class is for you! As this is an ongoing weekly class, you can register or unsubscribe at any time. Please reach out if you would like to adjust the schedule and/or frequency of the class. If your student has taken Russian classes previously, please reach out to me about their current Russian language level, needs and interests prior to our first session.

The student will:
- learn the phonetic sounds in the Russian language and practice Russian pronunciation with the native Russian language teacher
- develop/improve conversational Russian
- enrich their Russian vocabulary
- develop/improve reading and writing skills in Russian
- understand/practice Russian grammar at a higher level

Hi Friends!
I'm Mila and I am excited to be a part of your learning journey! I first started teaching when I was still a student in the Russian University. I majored in Linguistics and English Philology. I moved to the United States over 18 years ago. Over the years, I have taught in different public school and charter school settings, given private and group lessons in Russian and ESL. I have also been homeschooling my own children for over 12 years now. I love to learn about different cultures and I believe that learning a foreign language can help us better understand a foreign culture and people. When learning a foreign language, students don’t only study grammatical structures but they also develop greater empathy, improve their ability to concentrate and focus, and prepare themselves for success in their future lives.
I hope to offer a variety of classes to my prospective students that I have so enjoyed both teaching and learning about.
I firmly believe that learning a foreign language can help you understand and appreciate a foreign people and their culture in a much deeper way than you would otherwise be able to do. I know from personal experience that you can greatly enrich your life by learning and speaking a foreign language. I think learning makes better people of us all.
Something Fun/Personal About Me:
- I enjoy gardening SO MUCH that my kids sometimes refer to me as a "Crazy Plant Lady." : )
- I wrote my thesis paper on ‘Neologisms [newly coined words and expressions] in the Harry Potter Books’.
- I love to meditate.
