This is a class is for learners to gain reading confidence and begin forming a strong reading/comprehension foundation. Does your child need reading and comprehension practice? This is a private one-on-one tutoring session where your child will focus on decoding words, practice/identify sight word, phonics skills, reading comprehension, re-telling stories in order and reading and discussing age/skill appropriate text. Students will read short passages/stories, play fun phonics games and discuss what they have read. My tutoring session will be adjusted to your learner's reading level and and skills they need to practice or learn. I believe learning should be fun and interactive, so I will include games and songs to reinforce decoding, reading and comprehension skills. When you register your child for this session please let me know what it is he/she needs help with! Does your child need help with reading accuracy, fluency, or comprehension? Together we will help your learner become a more confident reader! If you are interested in a time slot that I have not listed, please reach out and I may be able to accommodate your schedule.

Hi my name is Lynn and I am excited to be teaching on Outschool.
I graduated with a bachelor degree in education. I am a certified teacher with an endorsement in Pre-K - 4th grade.
I taught first grade for 18 years and I have taught kindergarten for the last 11 years. I also have over 15 years of experience volunteering with pre-schoolers and young adults. I love teaching and making an impact on children of all ages. I feel so blessed to be able to have a job I love!
I believe that learning should be interactive and fun as well as educational. I also believe that all children learn and develop at their own pace and I believe in meeting children where they are when they come to my class. I will offer a variety of activities in my classes to enhance each students learning experience.
In my free time I enjoy riding my bike, crafting with my cricut, reading, going to the beach and pool, shopping and spending time with my family and friends.
