This course will teach an introduction to computer programming in python for beginners. The course intends to cover about 1/2 of a first year programming course in an engineering program. This course is great for learners with no prior coding experience or learners who have taken a single computer science/engineering class in high school (gr9 - 11).

We will Cover the following weekly topics:
* Thinking like a computer program
* Python as a calculator
* Remembering information with variables
* Basic data types
* Boolean statements & algebra 
* If statements
* Advanced data types - lists 
* For loops
* While loops 
* Project

The course pace can be individualized to the learner meaning we can take longer to complete the 10 weeks or finish early and spend more time on advance topics and the project. 

Each class will include:
* 5 - 10 minute recap/homework review
* 30 minute interactive lecture where students will learn the concepts
* 15 - 20 minute of working time 

Students may complete classwork as homework for extra practice. 

The class will include a combination of PowerPoint plus interactive coding using Repl.it (free website) delivered over Zoom. Students are expected to participate throughout the class by asking questions and coding along!
