Guided Reading Instruction to help your child succeed in the love of reading as well as implementing various instructional methods tailored made to help your child become stronger readers. This is a 1-1 class with a Certified Elementary School Teacher with a Reading Endorsement, English Language Learner Certification, and an Exceptional Student Education Certification. We will read a specific Guided Reading Story completing activities within the stories. They will work on various reading strategies like:

Week 1--Prediction – Look at the title, find the author's name, what do you think this book will be about? Check your predictions at the end of the story?

Week 2, Week 3, Week 4--Clarification & Questioning – connect text to real world--have you ever had a problem like the character in the story? Which character is your favorite? Students will generate questions as well as answer questions throughout the story,

Week 5 and 6--Summarizing – What is the beginning, middle, and end of the story?
