Maestra Zia is a native Spanish speaker who was born to Spanish speaking parents in a Spanish speaking country. She lived more than 20 years on the island of Puerto Rico. She has two degrees from the University of Puerto Rico and worked in the Department of Education on the island as well. She has successfully raised bilingual children of her own, teaches numerous classes and workshops in Spanish to fellow native speakers and also enjoys providing simultaneous interpretation services for her community.
