Created by ZumbaⓇ and BabyFirstⓇ, ZumbiniⓇ is an early childhood education program that uses original music and movement to promote cognitive, social, fine/gross motor skill, and emotional development for children ages 0-5. For Outschool's platform, this class will be offered to children ages 3-5. In a 40 minute Valentine's Day party class, we will sing, dance, and play - all to Zumbini's 100% original music! Songs will feature "love" and some of the things that we love. Parents or caregivers should be nearby; however, they must remain off-camera. It is important to note that the Zumbini program is structured to include repetition and rituals, which are two very crucial aspects of learning in the early childhood years. During class, we will dance, sit and sing, dance with scarves, and play simple instruments. Dances and songs will feature choreography, but learning and memorization of specific steps and motions is not the purpose of this class; rather, children are exposed to this structured approach to music and movement and are free to imitate what is presented or interpret the music in whatever manner they wish to participate. Our class schedule will include the following: 1. Dance 2. Welcome Song 3. Sit & Sing 4. Dance 5. Sit & Sing 6. Dance with Scarves 7. Play Drums 8. Free Dance 9. Free Instrument Play 10. Calm Down 11. Goodbye Song

Parent or caregiver is required to be adjacent to the child during this activity, but must remain off camera. While Zumbini is not a fitness program, it does involve quite a bit of movement. You may want to dress your child in comfortable clothing. Please have a large enough space available for your child to dance around and ensure that it is clear of any potential hazards that can be bumped into, etc. It is important to note that we will stand to dance and sit on the floor to sing during our Zumbini classes, so it is suggested to utilize a space such as the living room rather than be seated at the kitchen table, etc. Please be sure to review your "instruments" for each class to be sure they are safe for your child's use.

Please note that we will use scarves in class, so this can be a scarf, blanket, bandana, hand towel, dishcloth, t-shirt, pillowcase, etc. We will play drums as our structured instrument, so please grab a toy drum, pot, pan, mixing bowl, box, container, coffee table, hardcover book, floor, etc. to join in on the fun. We also will have a free instrument portion of our class, so bring along any instruments you have, create some of your own, or make music with any household objects that can make noise! Some Zumbini character coloring sheets will be shared in the welcome message for you to create additional Zumbini fun at home outside of class.

Hi, I'm Sarah! I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Integrated Early Childhood Education & Special Education and teacher certifications for Preschool-Grade 3 and Students with Disabilities. I have 10 years of teaching experience in both Pre-K-Grade 2 public school classrooms and a Birth-3 early intervention program. My love of working with children began when I was a summer camp counselor and my passion has continued steadfast to this very day! I also am a licensed Zumbini instructor, which is an early childhood music and movement program. I believe that learning through play is paramount - it truly is the best form of education for young children. I incorporate FUN through hands-on learning and interpersonal interactions.
