Students will begin by introducing themselves and sharing something that they know about zebras. Next, the teacher will read the story "Zoe Zebra Loses Her Z." As the teacher reads,the students will discuss the different animals and rhymes in the book. Where have you seen these animals? Which animal do you like the best/least? What new animal did you learn about?  After the story and discussion, students will color animals of their choice (provided in classroom materials) to tell someone at home what the story was about.  Last, students will share their favorite picture with the group. Students may not have time to color all 5 pictures during this. They can choose to finish coloring after class.
