Many kids struggle when writing essays that meets academic and testing standards, but writing an essay does not have to be a difficult task. As an instructional designer and certified teacher, I have taken the time to break down the steps needed to write an essay in a way that is easy for kids ages 8-12 years old to understand and follow along. Learners will get the opportunity to master small and easy steps before moving on to more complicated writing tasks. What will be taught? Students...
When given a writing prompt or topic, 4th grade students will use the prescribed writing process to draft a five-paragraph essay containing an introduction, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion during the prescribed time of 120 minutes and using grammatically correct sentences.
