주당 수업 1 시간 30 분 시간숙제
주당 1-2시간. It's recommended learners continue drafting or working on their creative writing projects between sessions, using the techniques or ideas/suggestions picked up from class. At least 1-4 pages is recommended to establish a strong writing habit. These pages don't necessarily have to be drafts or full narratives, they can be world-building notes, character sketches and profiles, plot outlines or mindmaps, drawings, maps...whatever the writer feels is necessary for their own work.보고계신 지문은 자동 번역 되었습니다
수업 소개
영어 수준 - 알 수 없음
미국 8학년 - 11학년 학년
This class is for those interested in exploring the many facets of writing their story ideas onto paper, in whatever format the story needs to take: novels, epics, screenplays, video games, etc. We are a group of writers that love to write, to support each other through plot knots and the occasional writer's block, and, most of all, storytelling. Each session is structured to be workshop-style and highly interactive, containing three parts: 1) Discussion of writing topic - Writers are welcome to bring questions specific to their writing process and what's coming up for them in their stories/poems/development, etc. 2) Writing/drafting/planning time to respond to a writing prompt - Some weeks can be spent using the first 30 minutes of class just to write. Because sometimes that's what writers need! 3) Sharing and feedback of writing - On some weeks, we use breakout rooms where you are separated into trios or pairs. Breakout rooms allow you to go deeper and have more time with another person's writing as well as ask that person more specific questions about your work. - Other weeks we give each other feedback in the big group, where we go one-by-one through each of your pieces. - No need to come with a bigger project that you're working on. If you have no idea what you'd like to write, come any way! Myself and the group would love to help you out with ideas and suggestions. - It's NOT NECESSARY to come to EVERY class session with work to share. There is absolutely no pressure to share your work. If you'd like to come and enjoy other's work while providing them feedback, you are most welcome to. This class is especially good for those who have taken either Writing the Worlds You Imagine I or II to continue drafting a longer project, keep steady on their writing practice, and to receive feedback on their work. My teaching style is quite organic. I allow the learners to lead and choose what and how they would like to write, and the topics that come up largely depend on what the writers decide they need. I provide support and encouragement, facilitate guidance, and a keen editing eye along the way, but the class is the learners' space to explore ideas and dive deeper into their own creative process. Many students walk away from these workshops more confident in both writing and presentation skills. Some experience with world-building and/or long-form narrative is preferred but not required. Taking Writing the Worlds You Imagine I or II is recommended although not necessary. If this is your first class with me, you are most welcome! This ongoing series differs from Writing the Worlds You Imagine II through its less intensive and weekly prompt format. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to message!

학부모 가이드
Due to the nature of prompt writing, learners often write about fantastical images, creatures, or spirits and magic. Weapons and battle scenes may come up as well. Writers are asked to provide a content warning and show their debatable drafts to the instructor privately for approval before presenting it for feedback to a mixed-aged group.

Greetings! Thank you for being here.
I'm Teresa Purugganan, pronouns she/they. You can call me Ms. Purugganan (poo-roo-gah-naan). I ask that you please do not shorten it to "Ms. P" as this name has survived a long history of colonization of my ancestral lands, the Philippines. I'd like to preserve the name and continuously speak it into existence as an offering to my ancestors and my people.
I've been a teacher for the past 11 years, a writer since I was taught the skill, and a poet since high school. I love poetry, what they call "magical realism," and creative non-fiction. These are the genres I enjoy working in as writer and poet.
I am currently living and working as a settler in the Kingdom of Hawai'i. I offer creative writing and art workshops for young writers and artists, mostly ages 12-17. Though, age matters to me less than curiosity and enthusiasm.
These spaces are collaborative and encouraging ones, designed to support you and your creative process.
Please feel free to message with any questions or schedule requests.
With much gratitude,
ms. purugganan
