Writing tasks provide students with an opportunity to show their writing skills in a specific writing text type. Writing tasks are often part of district, state, and national writing assessments. This class will provide students with an understanding on how to complete a writing task. ***** GRASPS STORY ***** Students will be given the writing task through a story. The story will be designed in the GRASPS format. Below is an explanation of the GRASPS format. G = Goal R = Role A = Audience S = Situation P = Product S = Standards Goal - Students will be given a goal or writing task that they must complete by the end of the class.
