빌딩 브릭으로 코드 작성

In this class, students will learn the basic principles of making a code for communication purposes. They will make a key for their code as they create their own code for each letter of the alphabet using building blocks.  Students will have the opportunity to share their code with the class and to tell us if they chose any certain brick for specific letters for certain reasons. Did you make the letter of your first name orange because you like to play basketball? Did you make the "t" green because trees are green? Each color does not have to represent something significant but it is always fun to share your thinking and creativity with others. 

We will then each write our name in code.

My teaching style is very welcoming and encouraging. I like to see students problem solve, discuss, and celebrate the thinking and learning of themselves and each other. I will foster an environment of kindness, support, and encourage a growth mindset. 

Students do not need any prior experience with creating a code. Students will be encouraged to use their code after class to make messages for friends and family, to practice their spelling words...whatever creative ways they can dream up to use their building brick codes.
