Beginner 레벨
Students will be introduced to the first two units of writing methods from the Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW). This class focuses on creating key word outlines and using the outlines to retell a paragraph in their own words. In addition to the structure of writing, we will focus on "dressing up" our writing by using strong verbs, quality adjectives, and other techniques! I am an IEW Registered Instructor and have taught several IEW-related courses over the past 10 years in person and online. I am excited to bring these classes to the online environment. I find that students are challenged, engaged, and learn to enjoy playing with their writing.
Please bring paper and a writing utensil to class. I will post homework after class each week in a pdf format. We are NOT using purchased curriculum from IEW, as some of my other classes. As a Registered Instructor for IEW, I have been trained in the instruction of the units presented in the Teaching with Style and Structure Manual.
