Grammar at the sentence level is essential to effective writing in all academic subjects. In this interactive class, students will learn the components of four sentence types: simple, complex, compound, and complex-compound through interactive lecture. Students will improve their writing at the sentence level by learning to categorize sentences as simple, complex, compound, or complex-compound. They will learn to use these sentence types to identify, correct, or prevent fragments and run-ons.
With my MA, MBA, and PhD degrees, I have taught English in middle school, high school, and college for 19 years and business at the college level for seven years. While most people think grammar is tedious, I enjoy working with the rules of a language to create accurate, effective, and eloquent messages.
