The earth is full of nature world wonders. In this class students will learn the science behind the uniqueness and beauty of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN. In this lesson, we will cover mountain formations, plate tectonics, and the rock cycle as it relates to Lookout Mountain. Students will be engaged in a virtual field trip while learning. Students will be introduced to the topic with a KWL chart. This will allow students and parents to access learning gains. I will use powerpoint, pictures, videos, and diagrams to teach the lesson. Students will have an opportunity to interact with others in a short breakout discussion session. Lastly, we will end the lesson with a short quiz.

Students will be able to identify patterns in the rock cycle and how they lead to he formation of mountains.Students will be able to identify the uniqueness of Lookout mountain and it’s internal cave.
