World Book Day is held every year on the first Thursday of March, when we celebrate reading and the skill of authors who give us exciting worlds and fascinating facts.

Join one of our classes during March to share your love of books and reading with other bookworms. During this class, we will talk about why we love reading, the various genres available and both fiction and non-fiction. This will be very much a student-centred class with learners sharing their favourite books and authors and telling us why they enjoy them and recommending books and authors to each other.

During class, we will imagine that we have written a fiction or non-fiction book (or imagine that our favourite author is publishing a new book) and, using the printouts provided, will design a cover for that book and create a 'blurb' for the back. We will take a brief look at some book covers first to give us some inspiration on fonts, size, type of illustration, etc, and find out exactly what a blurb is, why a book has one and how to write our own.
Students are welcome to dress up as their favourite book characters if they wish to but there is no pressure to do so!
