Wordly Wise: 어휘력 및 쓰기 강화, 1권: 유치원/1학년(진행 중)

Are you interested in helping your learner boost their vocabulary and strengthen reading skills at the same time?  Come explore this weekly ongoing class to improve your learner's vocabulary, using Wordly Wise Book 1.

What will your learner do?

Each week we will meet to learn as set of new words.  There are 10 words per lesson and we will focus on gaining the meaning of those words through concept cards that provide a visual representation of each word. Learners will use visual and auditory skills to listen to a story that use the weekly words to further student understanding. 

I love to engage learners with a variety of activities and games to make the learning process fun and help them remember the words! We will use writing, movement, reading, and speaking to practice our words!

As a licensed teacher with almost 20 years of teaching experience, I try to help students make connections with the words and find helpful ways to remember their meanings. 

Is there Homework?
Assignments will be provided as an optional activity for families who wish their learner to complete additional work with the weekly words. I am happy to review and check any complete assessment after our weekly class. Feedback will be provided to the family via the Outschool message platform.

All weeks will follow a similar routine/structure for the class and the class structure and dates are listed below.


How is the class set up?

Class structure - there are 15 lessons in total and then the section will repeat
- introduce words 
- discuss part of speech (noun, verb, or adjective)
- weekly story
- activity that allows learners to practice using the word through reading and/or writing
          *Activities may include but are not limited to fill in the blank, guess my word, word 
           puzzles, illustrate the word, sentence writing, concept maps, etc.
- final/closing activity or question:  teacher will assess students understanding of newly introduced words
- assignment: optional activities are provided for families to complete at home for further study of the weekly words
